care packages!!!

overcast 1 °C

I have been very sick this week but on Friday I finally got out of bed and made my way over to IES to pick up not one but TWO care packages from my parents and grandparents! It was a little cumbersome (and heavy) to carry on the metro but I finally got them back to my room and sat around with my friends and opened them up. It was like Christmas.

Mom and Dad sent me approximately 20 pounds of processed foods, including POPTARTS. I'm already halfway through the box of blueberry frosted and I'm getting anxious about what I'll do when I run out.

Mama and Papa sent me some processed food as well (hooray for EasyMac!), a very warm scarf, and the cutest dress. It'll be perfect for my internship. Thank you!

The best thing in the care packages, however, was...

All the peanut butter! 3 pounds 10 ounces, to be exact. All of my friends are jealous. I'm going to try to make it last as long as possible - peanut butter is available here, but it's very very expensive, and probably not as good as JIF. I'm so excited to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.... mmm.

You can also see in the picture of the peanut butter that my darling sister Lydia colored a picture of My Little Pony and sent it to me! She knows the way to my heart. Thanks, Lydia!

Getting these care packages was a great end to a pretty crummy week. Thank you family!

How sweet! Aren't packages from home the best?! I'm glad you were spoiled after being so sick!
