The Atomium

On Saturday, my friends and I took a trip to the Atomium, which is on the northern outskirts of Brussels. It was built in the 1950s for the World's Fair that was held in Brussels. It is literally a giant silver molecule. You can go inside all the different spheres (atoms) and from the top one, you get a great view of the city. It was especially beautiful because it's been snowing in Brussels for the past few days. It costs 8 euros to go inside, but I'd definitely let my parents or grandparents buy me another ticket to visit it again when they are in Brussels. :)

This is our street, snow-covered.

The Atomium itself.

Wearing my raspberry beret - thanks, Mama and Papa!

Various views from the top.

The whole experience was really trippy - there were a lot of really steep, really long escalators, and lots of relics from the 1960s. By the end of our visit, I was ready to get out of there - it kind of gave me a headache.

I used to live right around the corner from the Atomium. I could actually see it from my street. Loved this recap :) Made me miss it!
